The World Bank (2008) presents that infectious disease outbreaks and crisis can exact high economic effects through illness, death and disruptive purchasing behaviors from people. And the SARS outbreak brought the first example of global concern of economic impact, which could be seen obviously in travel and tourism industries from many infected countries. The four East Asian economies which have the highest number of infected cases were impacted the most economically: China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, Chinese Taiwan and Singapore.
